The principles of reflexology are that specific points are mapped out on the soles and tops of feet that correspond with organs, limbs, senses and general functions, such as speech and circulation.

The feet are loaded with nerve endings (approximately 7,200) and pressure placed on the precise reflex area produces effects in another place of the body via the pathways of the nervous system.

The big toe for instance is connected to the head and stimulating it through massage may help[ ease a headache.
